Drake Shares "Special Place" Where Son Adonis Was Conceived

Hold on, Drake is going home.
While the "God's Plan" rapper hails from Toronto, he considers Amsterdam to be a city "very dear" to his heart since it's where he and ex Sophie Brussaux conceived their son Adonis more than seven years ago.
"I was saying backstage, I was saying that this is the place," Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) told the crowd at the July 30 show in the Netherlands capital, as seen in a video circulating on social media. "A very special place in my heart. Because this is where my son was conceived."
Sharing that it was pretty "big" for him to be performing in the city, the 38-year-old added, "There would be no Adonis if there wasn’t an Amsterdam, so shoutout to y'all."
Sophie gave birth to Adonis in October 2017, though Drake did not believe the boy was his at the time. It was only in June 2018 when the Degrassi alum confirmed his paternity, rapping on "Emotionless" from his Scorpion album, "I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid."
Drake later admitted that his journey to fatherhood wasn't exactly ideal as he and Sophie, a retired adult film star, have had a complicated relationship.
"I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we've had our moments," he shared on HBO's The Shop in October 2018. "I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don't have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don't ever want the world to be angry at his mother."
Drake continued, "We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I'm just really excited to be a great father."
Since then, Drake has been a notable presence in his son's life. In fact, he threw Adonis a Spongebob Squarepants-themed birthday party in October.
"Baby goat," he wrote on Instagram in a tribute to his little one, "you are different."
